HSA contribution planner, 2024
This works out one number from the HSA Contribution Limit figures published for 2024. Every amount it uses is below, with the document it was read from. What you enter is your own: this site has no way to check it, and the answer it produces is not a published figure.
This calculates
The HSA contribution room left after the contributions and catch-up choice you enter.
You provide
- Your coverage
- Contributed so far this year
- Eligible for the catch-up
It does not include
- HSA eligibility, employer contributions, account administration, tax filing, or tax advice.

How it is worked out
The published base limit, plus the published catch-up amount if you are eligible for it, less what you enter as contributed so far. Both published amounts are exact, so only your own figure is rounded, to the nearest cent. Where you have already contributed more than the limit allows, the answer is nothing rather than a negative amount.
It uses Catch-up limit, age 55 and over, +$1,000, published above.
Your coverage, from the 2 this year publishes: Self-only ($4,150), Family ($8,300). The calculator uses the one you pick and says which.
Figures in this colour are computed from the amounts above. They are not published figures and no document states them.
