Employees in New York City working for large employers of 11 or more employees, under the basic minimum hourly rates for workers other than fast food employees. Small New York City employers, Long Island and Westchester counties, the remainder of the state and fast food employees each have their own schedule in the same document, and none of those rates is published on this page.
What changed this year, and why
New York stopped having one statewide minimum wage on December 31, 2016. From that date the general hourly rate was set by employment location, industry and, in New York City only, by the number of employees, and the rate for New York City employers of 11 or more employees became $11.00 per hour - the rate that stood through 2017.
