Rates and Limits publishes the US federal and state figures that change every year - contribution limits, tax brackets, standard deductions, credits, exemptions and wage rates - one page per figure per year, each one showing the government document it came from and the date it was checked against that document.

Who publishes it

Rates and Limits is published independently. It is not affiliated with the IRS, the Social Security Administration, the Department of Labor, or any other agency whose documents it cites, and it does not accept payment to feature or omit a figure.

No figure here is reviewed or endorsed by a tax professional, and nothing here is advice. What is claimed instead is a method: every number is traceable to a document you can open, and the process that put it there is written out under methodology.

When pages change

A figure is published as soon as the agency document stating it has been fetched and verified, which for most IRS figures is late in the preceding calendar year and for the health savings account limits is around the middle of it. Where a figure for a coming year has not been announced, the page says so rather than guessing. Once published, a figure is permanent: changes lists what has moved most recently.
