How it is worked out
The published amount less the amount you enter, rounded to the nearest cent. Where what you enter is the larger of the two, the answer is nothing rather than a negative amount.
How many qualifying children you have, from the 4 this year publishes: Earned income amount, childless filers ($8,680), Earned income amount, one child ($13,020), Earned income amount, two children ($18,290), Earned income amount, three or more children ($18,290).
