Minimum Wage Update
The Virginia Minimum Wage Act is scheduled to increase on May 1, 2021 when the new law
becomes effective. The minimum wage in Virginia will increase to $9.50 per hour on May 1,
2021. It will then rise to $11.00 per hour on January 1, 2022, before increasing to $12.00 per
hour as of January 1, 2023.
